VERBS
Verbs are the heroes that bring your sentences to life! They show what's happening, what things are doing, or even what things are being.
What Verbs Do:
- Action verbs:Show physical or mental activities (run, think, create, solve, imagine).
Example: The dog barks excitedly at the mail carrier.
- Stative verbs:Describe states of being or existence (is, seems, appears, believes).
Example: The house appears haunted in the moonlight.
- Helping verbs: Work with other verbs to express tense, mood, or voice (has, can, will, must).
Example: She has been dancing for hours!
To show when the action is happening, verbs wear different "tenses. Here are some common ones:
- Present tense:Action happens now (jumps, reads, sleeps).
- Past tense:Action happened in the past (jumped, read, slept).
- Future tense:Action will happen in the future (will jump, will read, will sleep).
