Word Roles
- Nouns: Names - people, places, things (book, teacher, fun)
- Verbs: Actions - what happens (reads, teaches, brings)
- Adjectives: Describers - add details (excited, wise, delicious)
- Adverbs: Modifiers - how/when things happen (quickly, happily, very)
Sentence Building
- Subject (who/what) + Verb (does what) + Object (optional) = sentence!
- Example: Curious cat (subject) jumps (verb) over fence (object).
Punctuation
- Periods: End of the story.
- Commas: Short pauses/list separators.
- Question marks: Asking a question.
- Exclamation points: Big emotions!
