Think of grammar as the secret code that helps you express yourself perfectly! Here's a quick guide:

 

Word Roles

  • Nouns: Names - people, places, things (book, teacher, fun)
  • Verbs: Actions - what happens (reads, teaches, brings)
  • Adjectives: Describers - add details (excited, wise, delicious)
  • Adverbs: Modifiers - how/when things happen (quickly, happily, very)

 

Sentence Building

  • Subject (who/what) + Verb (does what) + Object (optional) = sentence!
  • Example: Curious cat (subject) jumps (verb) over fence (object).

 

Punctuation

  • Periods: End of the story.
  • Commas: Short pauses/list separators.
  • Question marks: Asking a question.
  • Exclamation points: Big emotions!
